In Other Words: Mérida
A literary magazine
Submissions

We are looking for previously unpublished (note – if it’s on the internet, it’s published!) poetry and fiction that is exciting and inspired. We are especially looking, however, for poetry and fiction that is exciting and inspired AND written by English speaking residents of the Yucatan Peninsula, so please let us know if you are one of those. We won’t reject you if you’re NOT. We’ll just be sort of biased for you if you ARE. ‘Cause this is a literary magazine celebrating Merida and environs and the literary scene herein. Deadline for the May issue is 1 May 2012. Please don’t send more than 6 poems per poetry submission, and for some reason our program has problems with pdf files, so we prefer word files. You can submit in pdf, but if you’re accepted, we would have to get a word file from you.

We are also interested in nonfiction articles (in English) about both English and Spanish/Mayan Yucatecan writers, and English translations of works by Spanish and Mayan speaking Yucatecan writers.

We would also like art submissions if you would like to a featured artist on our home page.

Please put that it’s a fiction, poetry, translation or nonfiction submission or an art submission in the subject line, so we can properly organize them as they arrive. Not that we’re disorganized or anything. Oh, lordy, no.
